Rock and Roll San Diego opened in 2011 by Mark Langford, a lifelong musician and San Diego resident since 1980. Mark wanted to build a place for musicians to play loud every day of the week, a place where they could feel at home, and a place where they could be apart of a community.

Rehearsals

Whether rehearsing, prepping, or teching for a world tour, festival gig, play, local show, recording session, or your next back yard barbecue, we have a room for you!

Since opening, we have hosted a full spectrum of bands and music styles. From huge signed touring bands like Steven Tyler, The Beach Boys, The Village People, Nancy Wilson, Tribal Seeds, Carnifex, Ace Frehley, POD, The B-52s, O Town, King Diamond, The Devil Wears Prada, Pierce the Veil, Hirie, A Day to Remember, Cattle Decapitation (and many more)… to our favorite local and regional bands (who we absolutely LOVE and support) …we aim to treat everyone like a rockstar! Backlined rooms, Snacks, Drinks, Free purified Hot & Cold water machine, 2 Showers, 2 kitchens with amenities, a pool table, mood lighting, extra strings when you break one, accessories and add on rentals when you need something…the works.

Music Lessons

Don’t be shy! Rock and Roll San Diego offers music lessons to all skill levels. Come on down!

Whether you, your child, or loved one are just starting out, or has been playing and performing for years, we can help you to achieve your goals. Our knowledgeable and experienced team of instructors teach one on one instrumental lessons for guitar, bass, vocals, piano, and drums.

With teachers running their own schedules and a facility that is open till 11pm, we are sure to be able to accommodate even the trickiest schedules. We offer “Rockcitals” which run twice a year. These pro production recitals give you or your child the opportunity to perform on a professional stage, with professional lighting, recording, filming, and audio tech services- Both solo and/or group performances in front of an audience of your family and peers.

We’ve all been there… your amp is buzzing, or your guitar … well …ugh. It is just NOT cooperating… AND you have a gig THIS weekend!!

Broken gear is frustrating, especially when it gets in the way of your creativity or making money. Have no fear, Willie is here! Our repair techs, led by Willie Shadoan, can help get your gear on point and put you back on the stage as soon as possible.

Get a room!

Host private festivals, concerts, jams, video shoots, album releases, audio recording, birthday/holiday/other parties, recitals, receptions, podcasts, comedy shows, corporate team building, drum circles, AND MORE in our Hendrix Hall! Events include use of its adjacent kitchen, and its amenities, which are available for catering. Events also include a blockout of “Ground Control” Its audio & video recording suite! (When purchasing a tech service) As a courtesy we offer up to 14 tables (6 8ft banquet + 8 5ft rounds) & up to 50 chairs to our event clients at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE! :) .

At 1,600 sq. ft, Hendrix Hall is ideal for up to 100 guests (+ # performers) and can be arranged, designed, and vibed out many ways to fit your needs. Its extra large stage provides for a wide range of performances and uses. With parking right outside the event entry door (Including handicap spots directly in front) , Its a snap to load and unload and a breeze for your guests. We have a knowledgeable and friendly crew to help your events run smoothly. What’s not to love?
